Arrive in Colombo International Airport and after airport check-out procedure, get transferred to your hotel at Anuradhapura in the evening. En-route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a home to the retired and orphaned Elephants. This orphanage is the home for about 60 elephants, out of which many are baby elephants found, abandoned or orphaned in the wild. they are being cared, fed and trained by the wild life authorities. Anuradhapura is the ancient capital of Sri Lanka that possesses the most primitive grand monuments of the country. All the monuments will offer you a glimpse of the oldest city of Sri Lanka. Dinner and overnight stay at Anuradhapura.
Today after breakfast, check-out Anuradhapura hotel. Visit Sri Maha Bodhi, the oldest historically documented tree in the world, the Brazen Palace, Dagobas, Ruwanwelisaya, Abeygiri & Jetawana Monasteries, finely preserved rock-cut statues of Lord Buddha and ruins of palaces, Isurumuniya Rock Temple. Proceed to Dambulla. Enroute visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress – Lion rock and Frescoes of the Heavenly Maidens at Sigiriya. Arrive in Dambulla in the evening. Sigiriya will offer the visitors to witness a gallery of 5th-century paintings coupled with unrivaled landscaped gardens that are unmatched by any modern-day citadel in the world. The boulder and the pleasure gardens will reflect the geniuses of the early engineers and they are believed to be admired for 1500 years.
Today after breakfast, checkout Dambulla hotel and proceed to visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress – Lion rock and Frescoes of the Heavenly Maidens at Sigiriya. Later, visit the Dambulla Rock Temple – The Ancient Caves and the tallest Buddha Statue. Proceed to Kandy via Matale to visit a famous Spice Garden. Arrive Kandy in the evening. While being the second largest city in Sri Lanka, it is also famous for its immense beauty and is named as one of the seven UNESCO World Heritage sites in the country. With its luxuriant prairie, picturesque lake, longest river of the country and misty mountains, Kandy mesmerizes every visitor. Dinner and overnight stay at Kandy.
On this day, after breakfast, proceed to Nuwara Eliya via Seetha Kotuwa. According to legends, this is the same place where once the city of Lankapura was located. The city also features a beautiful palace for queen Mandothari. It is also believed that Goddess Sita was kept at this shift place before she moved to Ashoka Vatika. Arrive Nuwara Eliya in the evening. Nuwara Eliya is a charming town in Sri Lanka affectionately known as the “Little England†that is located in the highland of the island. Dinner and overnight stay at Nuwara Eliya.
After the breakfast, proceed for Nuwara Eliya city Tour. Nuwara Eliya invigorating mountain climate and scenery. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of sri Lanka’s tea country producing a significant share of the world’s best tea. Visit Ramboda Falls – A gigantic water fall having three parts. On the way also visit the Anjaneyar (Hanuman) Temple of Ramayana Trail in Ramboda, where you can witness the Foot Prints of Hanuman, followed by a visit to Tea Factory and Tea Plantation. Afternoon, proceed for Seetha Eliya which is believed to be the spot where Sita was held captive by the demon king Rawana. This was the place where Sita used to pray daily for Rama to come and rescue her. Later visit Hakgala, a temperate hill-country garden. At Hakgala, visit the Sita Amman Temple – according to tradition, the site is associated with Sita of the Ramayana epic. Ancient statues of Rama and Sita can be seen on a side of the temple. Later visit the Hakgala Botanical Gardens known as Ashok Vatika – one of the pleasure gardens of King Ravana. Next you will visit the Victoria Park, in the middle of the town, is a lovely place for a stroll or a picnic and is also good for Birding as you get some rare birds in this Park. Post having your dinner, enjoy your overnight stay at the Nuwara Eliya Hotel.
After the breakfast, proceed to Bentota. Arrive in Bentota, a rural coastal town in Sri Lanka Famous for its pristine sandy beaches. Bentota is a home to the majestic Marine Turtle, lies at the finishing end of the ”Golden Mile” from Colombo. Enjoy the boat ride in Bentota – known as Paradise Island of the Sri Lanka. Rest of the day leisure on the beach (Optional boat ride in the evening). Besides enjoying the sun, sea and sand, water sports lovers can enjoy a plethora of activities here. Dinner and overnight stay at Bentota.
After enjoying your breakfast, proceed for a city tour of Bentota. Visit the Kande Vihare Temple that is known to house the tallest statue of Lord Buddha in Sri Lanka. Also stop by the Kalyanarama Maha Viharaya, popular for its ancient effigy of Buddha. Visit the Turtle Hatchery. Later in the afternoon enjoy boat cruise at the Madu River. Dinner and overnight stay at Bentota.
After enjoying your breakfast, proceed for Colombo. Check-in at hotel and proceed for Colombo city tour. Visit the most popular tourist attractions, such as the Galle Face Green, a vast expanding stretch of lawn facing the sea and a beautiful place to walk along the greens and watch a splendid sunset, Viharamahadevi Park, Colombo National Museum, exhibiting ancient English paintings, miscellaneous sculptures from the colonial period and an antique collection of demon masks, World Trade Center Towers, the tallest building in Sri Lanka and the best business center rose with the concept of ‘One Stop Shop’, Old Parliament Building, Fort district, Old Colombo Lighthouse, Independence Hall at Independence Square in Cinnamon gardens, 100 years old clock tower, Hindu and Buddhist temple and the Bandaranaike Memorial International, Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque St.Paul’s Church Milagiriya. Return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay in Colombo.
In the morning after breakfast, proceeds to Colombo airport. Board your flight for your hometown for onward journey. (You can do some shopping and free time activities until your flight’s time.) (The Tour Ends At Colombo)
